Designers Evelyne Delaroche, Chantal and Monique Joubert are the creative force behind this brand, all three masters of their trade. All three founders of the brand Cymbeline.

Together with young talents they have created Atelier Emelia bringing the tradition of French Haute Couture to brides around the world.

Valuing French know-how above all, they work with masters in craftsmanship such as the lace of Calais, the embroiderers of Villers Outréaux but also with the best Italian and Spanish weavers for mikados, tulle or silk organza.

The team at Alice May were looking for a new label for our Kilternan store. We wanted glamour, we wanted luxury, we wanted a brand where each wedding dress had been designed to emphasize the feminine silhouette.

We found SAVIN LONDON.  

Andrey Savin is the designer behind this luxury brand who understands the glamour and exuberance of the modern bride. His use of sumptuous silks and fine chiffons together with delicately embellished laces create a show-stopping yet feminine look. He strives for absolute perfection in every gown.

Each wedding dress is designed and produced within their London-based atelier.

You’ve finally found your wedding dress so you can kick back, breathe a huge sigh of relief and relax until your big day. However don’t forget that final touch that transforms you from basic to beautiful bride! It all comes down to choosing the right veil or headpiece. If you thought deciphering through dress shapes and fabrics was tough let me introduce your wedding veil choices….

Pouf – A gathered piece of tulle or netting that fastens to a comb or headpiece to create height for the veil

Blusher – A short single layer of veiling. It can be worn over the face for the ceremony and then either flipped     over the head or removed afterwards

Chapel – A formal veil that extends to the floor. It’s often worn in combination with a sweep train and blusher for extra oomph. Usually 108 inches from the headpiece.

Cathedral – The creme de la creme of veils, the cathedral veil is probably the most formal. Normally 126 inches from the headpiece. Sometimes referred to as the ‘Royal Veil’

Finger Tip – Very popular length, particularly with ball gowns

Double Tier – A veil of two layers (either two veils or a veil and a blusher) usually of different lengths

Elbow – As the name implies, this type of veil extends to the bride’s elbows

Fountain – This veil is gathered at the crown of the head to create a cascading effect around the face. Usually of shoulder or elbow length

Mantilla – A long spanish-style circular piece of lace that frames the face. Made of lace or lace-edged tulle

Birdcage – Also known as a cage veil, Birdcage veils are typically a 9 inch piece of netting that drapes off the side of the head
